On&On

18 November 2010 - 16 March 2011
La Casa Encendida, Madrid

"We live in a world under constant media surveillance and control. Artists respond to this with ephemeral works which, by definition, cannot really be tracked. They use materials that are constantly evolving or have a limited lifespan. These highly disparate works, sometimes designed for a specific setting, are united by their interest in states of change: evolution, dissolution, memory, fragility and ageing"

Co-curated with Olivier Varenne, this exhibition brought together 14 artists from different countries and generations, the majority of whom designed site-specific pieces for La Casa Encendida exploring the ephemeral.

Artists:

Michel Blazy, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, Martin Creed, Eloise Fornieles, Anya Gallaccio, Andy Goldsworthy, Kitty Kraus, Claire Morgan, Tino Sehgal, Chiharu Shiota, Roman Signer, Steiner & Lenzlinger and Gregorio Zanon.
