Irving Vera explores everything that moves his sensitivity: Why is he impressed by an artist? Why is he interested in or inspired by such and such a story - a certain verse, or this or that image? Art helps him intimately relate with it all. Life beauty, concentrated in poetic imagery, is the centre of his attention. Vera uses drawing, installation, pottery and written poetry as vehicles of expression. Drawing and the written word for its immediacy; installation art for its spacial and physical possibilities; and pottery for its tactile connotations linked to earth. He always improvises, trying to be as open as possible to what arises in the creative process itself.
